It’s no surprise Scrub Daddy products have won our cleaning-obsessed hearts. They’re tough on grease, burnt food residue and undeniably cute (ahem, Scrub Daddy Halloween and Christmas sponges).

But durable sponges aren’t the only thing the brand offers. We discovered another Scrub Daddy product that’s about to change your household cleaning game for good: the Damp Duster. In just one swipe, it picks up dust and hair like a pro. Read on for my honest Scrub Daddy Damp Duster review.

What is the Scrub Daddy Damp Duster?

The Scrub Daddy Damp Duster is a soft, sponge-like cleaning tool that attracts dust like a magnet. It works best when damp (hence its name), and all it takes is one swipe on the coffee table, baseboards or glass mirror to pick up dust particles—and then some.

One side of the sponge has grooves for picking up everything from hair to dust and crumbs. Unlike dusting cloths, everything is trapped in the Damp Duster’s grooves. Meaning, no dust particles floating in the air or into the carpet. Just rinse and start fresh!

Why is it trending?

Because people love kitchen cleaning products that are as fun to use as they are functional (The Pink Stuff, anyone?). Combine that with the fact the internet’s already obsessed with Scrub Daddy products and you’ve got a viral cleaning sensation. In a video that’s amassed 8M views, TikToker LenaCleansUp shows how satisfying it is to clean with the Damp Duster. The tag #DampDuster on TikTok has garnered 15.1M views from users showing how the reusable duster cleans up everything from dust to countertop spills.

How We Tested It

The Damp Duster claims to work on a variety of surfaces like glass, baseboards, furniture and more. Here are the surfaces I tested:

Glass

My glass bar cart is my pride and joy. But because it sits against a brick wall, it gets dusty real fast. To test if the Damp Duster works on glass, I cleared everything off and got to work. I usually clean it with a microfiber cloth and glass cleaning spray. I opted for no glass cleaning spray, just the Damp Duster, and watched it work its magic.

Believe it or not, it truly only took one swipe in each direction to dust off the glass. To be thorough, I did rinse off the Damp Duster for every layer of the bar cart (it has four shelves). The true test was seeing if the dampness from the duster left a streak on the glass. Much to my delight, it didn’t. Within a couple swipes on each shelf, my bar cart looked good as new—no glass cleaning spray necessary.

Baseboards

This was by far the most satisfying area to clean. Everyone on social media swears by the Damp Duster for baseboards, so I had to give it a go. Starting with the area behind my trash can, I swiped the duster in one direction to the left on one side, then used the other side to swipe again toward the right. As gross as it was, the amount of dust, crumbs and dirt it picked up was incredibly satisfying. I rinsed and wrung it out and got to work on the rest of my baseboards.

To be honest, it felt like I was getting in a good squat workout while cleaning baseboards. The duster isn’t the easiest to use if you’re unable to bend easily, so keep that in mind. Luckily, dusting the baseboards was quick and simple. I wiped the Damp Duster all the way down the baseboards of my hallway, making sure to switch sides as I went so that no dust got left behind. In the past when I’ve dusted my baseboards with a microfiber cloth, the dust seems to fly away into the air. Not with the Damp Duster. Every particle is trapped within the grooves of the Scrub Daddy tool. Despite having to squat while cleaning, I’m never going back to my old ways.

Furniture

Next up: The desk and side tables. Starting with the desk, I cleared everything off and got the duster into position. Truth be told, my desk hadn’t been cleaned in about two months, so there was plenty of dust to be collected. I used one side of the duster for one half of the desk and the other side for the other half. Just like the baseboards and glass bar cart, every particle was picked up like a magnet with no traces left behind.

The same goes for my side tables. They’re black, so dust is extremely visible. All it took was a few swipes to clean one side table in just under a minute. Every inch of dust, crumbs and dirt was picked up with the duster, leaving them good as new. I repeated the same swiping motion for the other side table.

Other Surfaces

I also tested random surfaces like my stainless steel trash can, the charging port for my robot vacuum and monitor stand. All of which attract a lot of dust. There’s something about the dampness of the sponge and the grooves that pick up dust better than any other tool I’ve used. It quite literally only takes one swipe in each direction to clean. It’s that easy! I don’t have blinds in my apartment, but I’m confident the Scrub Daddy Damp Duster works wonders on this area, too.

What Other Shoppers Had to Say

With over 16,000 five-star ratings, it’s clear the Scrub Daddy Damp Duster is more than an internet sensation. Here’s what other shoppers love about the dusting pro:

“I love that this easily allows me to dust my baseboards,” shares Stephanie H., a verified Amazon reviewer. “It gets all the dust and dog hair off my white baseboards with ease, then a simple rinse and I can start fresh. Much better than using paper towels or cloths that need to be laundered. This is my go to for all my dusting needs now.”

Verified Amazon reviewer, Amanda Owen, attests to the product’s versatility: “I have an in-home daycare and found pen marks on my wall. I originally bought it for a baseboard duster but wondered if this would work because of Scrub Daddy’s other amazing products. Took very little time and all the pen marks disappeared with ease.”

Final Verdict

Damp DusterMadi Koetting/Taste of Home

If you haven’t picked up by now, I love my Scrub Daddy Damp Duster. My one critique is you really have to wring out the tool to prevent water dripping everywhere—but that’s expected with a sponge-like cleaning tool. Another standout feature? The dust stays trapped in the Damp Duster’s grooves even if you swipe over and over. I still love my microfiber cloths as an eco-friendly cleaning alternative to paper towels, but the Damp Duster is my new go to for my baseboards, bar cart and non-wood furniture.
