This Easy S’mores Board Is Perfect for Summer Nights

Updated: Feb. 13, 2024

Your s'mores board really only needs three ingredients: graham crackers, chocolate and marshmallows.

We love to share charcuterie boards at gatherings, but once the cheese and grapes disappear, the age-old question remains—what’s for dessert?

The summer months usually supply prime weather for bonfires, which means s’mores are a must. Charcuterie board aficionados can rejoice the next time their friends or family gather around the campfire, because a s’mores board is the next big thing when it comes to summer treats!

For starters, you’ll need s’mores staples: graham crackers, chocolate bars and marshmallows. (See which brands won our Test Kitchen’s s’mores taste test.) Then, add some fun s’mores upgrades, like peanut butter cups, Nutella or even cookie dough.

The center of our Taste of Home s’mores board is a row of homemade honey grahams, anchored on either side by ramekins of Nutella and peanut butter. You’ll also see milk and white chocolate, marshmallows, chocolate chip cookies and fun toppers like fresh fruit and chocolate-covered pretzels.

You don’t need to be a professional designer to perfect the art of arranging s’mores trays. It doesn’t hurt to be crafty, though!

It’s hard to go wrong with s’mores, and we love all of The Baker Mama’s s’mores board ideas! The dessert boards are basically foolproof, and are great for those who might be more well-versed in sweets than they are in pairing cheeses with crackers and spreads. Learning the ins and outs of how to build a cheese board can be tricky, but classic s’mores only have three ingredients—graham crackers, chocolate squares and marshmallows—and those are the only things you’ll need to get started.

For people who are really into charcuterie board prep, there are plenty of ways to dress up your s’mores tray. Just because this is a three-ingredient snack doesn’t mean you can’t sweeten things up! If Independence Day is coming up, you can create a 4th of July charcuterie board.

Like cheese and charcuterie, chocolate comes in a variety of forms and flavors. You can add dark and white chocolate bars, or even opt for something creamier like Nutella or peanut butter. For a deluxe s’mores treat, decorate your board with Ghirardelli squares or your favorite Girl Scout Cookies. You really can’t go wrong. Just make sure you have enough on your tray to go around for seconds!
