Cranberry Cream Cheese Spread

This festive dip is a snap to make, taking only 10 minutes from start to finish. Thanks to its hint of sweetness, both kids and adults will gobble it up. —Frankie Robinson, Lockhart, Texas

  • 1 package (8 ounces) reduced-fat cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup dried cranberries, chopped
  • 1/2 cup chopped dried apricots
  • 1 teaspoon grated orange zest
  • Assorted crackers


  • In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese, cranberries, apricots and orange zest until blended. Chill until serving. Serve with crackers.

    I just made this and wow is it good! I followed the recipe exactly but after reading some of the other comments, I might add nuts or orange juice next time. If you pop the cream cheese in the microwave for just a couple of seconds it makes it easier to mix. I love apricots and craisins so I really like it - the orange zest really makes all the flavors pop. It's great with any kind of cracker.

    I made this dip today. I also added about a tablespoon of chopped candied pecans and 1 tablespoon of light brown sugar. I put it on chocolate graham crackers. I thought it was great. The orange zest definitely was evident.

    Just whipped this together and spread it on a triscuit... YUM! Everyone, except my little 6 y/o loved it! Flavor and texture are to die for! The ONLY thing I did different was buying Whipped Cream Cheese per another commenter, and I think it could still use a little loosening but I'm not complaining :)

    I decided to try this with the following adjustments. Due to several people commenting that it was hard to spread, I used spreadable cream cheese. To add a bit more flavor, I added a couple of tablespoons of unsweetened orange juice concentrate, and about a tablespoon of sugar for a bit more sweetness. I liked it best with graham crackers, but am going to try it with pita chips as well.

    I followed the recipe exactly and found it very bland, tried adding more orange zest to give it some flavor but even that didn't help so then I added some fresh orange juice which made it easier to mix but still didn't help with the (lack of) flavor. Pretty, but oh so bland!

    Made this but used dried mango instead of apricots and a little orange juice instead of orange peel. It was good and something a little different. Great with slightly salty pretzel crisps. Might also be good with dried pineapple. Make sure to let sit at room temp for 30 minutes so that it is more spreadable.
