Updated: Mar. 24, 2024

Add baking soda, hydrogen peroxide and elbow grease together, and what do you get? A sparkling kitchen!

It can be a pain to clean the house, especially since we’d much rather be doing anything else. That’s why finding the easiest way is always king—so who else better to turn to than our good ol’ pal TikTok? I mean, they’ve already given us so many spring cleaning hacks.

Now, we’re giving you a video to add to your collection of tile floor cleaning hacks. Because, yeah, we definitely know you have a few liked already.

What Is the Tile Floor Cleaning Hack?

Start by sprinkling baking soda all over your tile. You may end going through a few boxes depending on the size of your room, so make sure to come prepared. After the floor has been covered, you’ll want to fill a spray bottle with hydrogen peroxide and spray over the baking soda. When everything looks good and wet, do a quick mini scrub to spread the product around.

Let the product sit for 30 minutes. Then, go back in and scrub gently with water. (Our Test Kitchen loves the Scrub Mommy scrubber for all kinds of cleanup tasks.) You’ll watch the dirt melt right off the tile and grout. It’s such a satisfying sight to see! Here are a few tips for making a homemade floor cleaner.

Once everything’s been thoroughly scrubbed, mop again with water and dry your masterpiece. You’ll have immaculate floors!

Why Does This Work?

Mixing equal parts baking soda and hydrogen peroxide for cleaning is a good way to fight stains. It’s even used to help remove stains on teeth. This power cleaning duo can be used for more than tile stains, too. You can use it for baking sheets, fabrics, faucets and even hard water residue. Trust me, you’ll have a sparkling house in no time!
