IN our early years of marriage, my husband asked me to make bean salad "like his mother's". I've tried many versions, but this is the one our whole family likes best.
In the past, I'd can about 50 quarts of green beans every year, but now my husband suggests I can only enough to keep making this salad.

"I can't brag enough about this recipe," writes Renee Lloyd of Pearl, Mississippi. "It's elegant enough for a formal brunch, yet simple and nutritious. With different fruits and cereals, the variations are endless."
Cafe Mocha Mini Muffins are a good choice, assures Tina Sawchuk of Ardmore, Alberta. "These mini muffins freeze will, so it's always easy to keep some on hand," she says. "And they're just the right size for snacking."
"Of all the breads I make, this is my husband's favorite," writes Marilyn Smith from Green Bay, Wisconsin. The subtle honey and oat flavor makes it perfect for toast or sandwiches...or as a side with a hot bowl of soup.
I sampled this recipe at a 25th anniversary party and was told it was a family favorite, courtesy of a Polish grandmother. I shared the recipe with my sister-in-law’s family and she told me her five-year-old son loved it so much that he would eat it cold for breakfast! Every time our family gathers now, someone brings this dish.
I OFTEN MAKE this easy potato dish when I invite someone over for lunch. It's a nice accompaniment to salads or sandwiches.
This dish always draws complimentary comments when my lunch guest arrives...the aroma of that touch of onion baking with the potatoes whets the appetite.
