Fall fanatics, gather ’round! It’s officially September, or as you undoubtedly have marked on your calendar, the month fall starts. This is the best time to enjoy sweater weather, apple picking and, of course, the Starbucks fall menu.

This year, Starbucks has outdone itself with the new Iced Pumpkin Cream Chai Tea Latte. I mean, does anything say fall like the spicy chai tea blended with pumpkin?

If you want to cozy up with Starbucks fall flavors right now—ideally while watching Gilmore Girls or a classic Halloween movie—then make a pumpkin cream chai at home. Thanks to TikTok creator @ethanrodecoffee, aka “the coffee guy,” we have a copycat recipe to share.

How to Make a Copycat Starbucks Pumpkin Cream Chai

If you’ve ordered the pumpkin cream chai, you’ll understand why this recipe went super viral on TikTok. With over 170,000 likes, Ethan’s copycat recipe perfectly recreates the Starbies favorite. The spice of chai, plus the sweetness of pumpkin cold foam, equals a drink we’ll be coming back to—at Starbucks and at home—time and time again.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons heavy whipping cream
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 1 teaspoon pumpkin sauce
  • Your choice of milk and chai concentrate
  • Ice cubes
  • Nutmeg

Directions

Step 1: Whisk the pumpkin cold foam

To a glass, add 2 tablespoons of heavy whipping cream, 1 tablespoon of milk and 1 teaspoon of pumpkin sauce. (Don’t be afraid to add extra pumpkin sauce as Ethan does, “for good measure.”)

Then, grab a milk frother—if you don’t have one already, this is our recommended milk frother—and whisk it all together until the cold foam is a thick yet smooth consistency.

Step 2: Assemble the chai

Next, take a different glass and mix milk and chai tea to your desired strength. Ethan says you can use any type of chai, but if you need a recommendation, he uses a Kimbala chai concentrate.

Top with ice cubes, but make sure there’s enough room to add that pumpkin cream! Stir together.

Step 3: Add the pumpkin cream

Finally, add that pumpkin cold foam right on top. Sprinkle on some nutmeg if you’d like, and viola—the perfect Starbucks-inspired fall beverage.
