McDonald’s Is Adding Brand-New Dipping Sauces to Its Menu on October 9

Updated: Oct. 04, 2023

You're going to need a large fry for this.

When you think McDonald’s, you think nostalgic, delicious fast food that never fails to deliver. We’ve been ordering their addictive fries and tasty burgers since the 1940s. Can you believe that?

You may remember the premiere of the Jalapeno Bacon Quarter Pounder from earlier this year, but that’s not the only new McDonald’s item that’s bringing the heat. It’s about to get real saucy.

What are the new McDonald’s sauces?

That’s right, we get two brand-new sauces from McDonald’s! Not that we didn’t already love the selection, but it’s always exciting to add something fresh to the mix. Here are your new favorite sauces:

McDonald’s Sweet & Spicy Jam Sauce

This red pepper sauce is made with Szechuan peppercorns, cayenne peppers and apple cider vinegar. Spicy! Fun fact—this is the first breakfast-inspired dipping sauce to hit U.S. fast-food restaurants!

McDonald’s chefs recommend trying the Sweet & Spicy Jam with a Sausage McMuffin, a Bacon, Egg and Cheese Biscuit, Hash Browns, McNuggets and fries.

McDonald’s Mambo Sauce

This tomato-based sauce is a combination of sweet, spicy and vinegary. The inspiration for this sauce was taken from the Washington, D.C. sauce staple.

McD’s chefs recommend pairing the Mambo sauce with the Quarter Pounder with Cheese, Hash Browns, McNuggets and fries. We love a sauce that goes with everything on the menu!

Tariq Hassan, Chief Marketing and Customer Experience Officer at McDonald’s USA, says, “Sweet & Spicy Jam and Mambo Sauce live at the intersection of flavor and culture—pulling from decades of rich food history and tradition in local restaurants and home kitchens, and bringing the delicious spice, sweetness and kick of heat we know today’s customers are craving.”

In other words, people want swicy food right now!

When can I get the new sauces?

You won’t have to wait long—the new McDonald’s sauces drop October 9. Does this mean I’ll have yet another reason to visit McDonald’s for McNuggets and fries? You won’t have to twist my arm to try them out, that’s for sure.
