For me, the key is pulling together an event with minimal stress but making it look like I labored for weeks. I love it when my guests comment about how much effort I put into planning.
One big secret to making it look effortless is to enlist help whenever you can do so affordably and in a way that makes sense. On those fronts, Walmart pickup and delivery service is a no-brainer. It takes the hassle out of shopping for whatever kind of event I’m planning, whether an elegant dinner party, a backyard barbecue or a pool party with a bunch of boisterous little kids. I can count on high quality, a big selection and low prices—enough so that I can afford to throw in some extras that elevate my gatherings from so-so to something special.Courtesy Walmart
When it comes to party planning, my “make life easier” mission begins with the Walmart app, where I can compile shopping lists, search for my favorite items, fill my online cart and schedule delivery right to my home. I find virtually everything I need for hosting, whether it’s fresh organic produce for whipping up my favorite appetizers, craft beer for game night or a decorated half sheet cake for an impromptu birthday party.
Beyond food and wine, a fully stocked department store is at my disposal. That means serveware, a reusable tablecloth or a galvanized drinks tub are all a click away. These are items I can use for party after party and can be dressed up or down depending on the event. That drinks tub, for example, is fun and casual when filled with sodas and juice near the pool but has a rustic-chic look when stocked with prosecco and surrounded by pretty stemware for an after-work happy hour.Courtesy Walmart
I use Walmart pickup and delivery for all my shopping needs. I schedule a delivery time, choose the items I need, and everything is delivered to my doorstep. I also know I’m not overspending, since online prices are the same as in-store—there’s no markup.
If I’m going to be out anyway, I’ll schedule curbside pickup, which is free for everyone. Otherwise, I’m delivery all the way. A $35 minimum order is required for both pickup and delivery. Walmart+ members get free delivery; otherwise, there’s a small delivery fee, which is money well spent for the time and stress I save by skipping a trip to the store.
Successful party planning means just that: planning. You can approach it with dread, or you can look for ways to carve out time and minimize the hassle. My top party planning tips include:
- Set a budget for how much you want to spend on your shindig.
- Make a schedule for when you need to place your order and have items delivered in time for you to cook, prep, decorate and do whatever else you need to do.
- Make lists—I love lists!—not just of what you need to buy but also the tasks you need to complete before showtime.
- Enlist family members to help, and delegate, delegate, delegate.
- Simplify your life by buying everything you need in one store. Did I mention I’m a fan of Walmart?
Ultimately, a party is supposed to be a good time, not just for your guests but for you too. By the time the first guests arrive, you want to be free to enjoy their company, eat some of the great food you’ve prepared, and pat yourself on the back for pulling off another successful event. And when someone compliments you on your peak party planning skills, maybe you can let them in on your secret weapon: Walmart’s pickup and delivery service.
