St. Patrick's Day Popcorn Recipe

Everyone's eyes will be smilin' when they see this candy corn with an Irish twist. "The green color gives the snack instant holiday appeal," nods Karen Weber of Salem, Missouri.
TOTAL TIME: Prep: 15 min. + cooling YIELD:24 servings

  • 4 quarts popped popcorn
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup butter

"Good and festive. Added some nuts and some Easter colored candy corn. Also drizzled it with white chocolate. For some reason though it didn't dry out (even after cooling for many hours on the counter) and stayed kinda chewy. Perhaps I will try baking it in the oven like caramel corn next time."

"I didn't care for this very much...thought it stuck to my teeth too much and was a little overly sweet; my 6 year old loved it, though!"
