Girl Scout Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • Decorator's sugar, optional

Directions

  • 1. In a bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy, 5-7 minutes. Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in milk and vanilla. Whisk together flour and baking powder; gradually add to creamed mixture and mix well. Chill at least 2 hours or overnight.
  • 2. Preheat oven to 350°. On a lightly floured surface, roll the dough to 1/4-in. thickness. Cut with trefoil cookie cutter or cutter of your choice. Place cookies on ungreased baking sheets. Sprinkle with decorator's sugar if desired.
  • 3. Bake until lightly browned, 8-10 minutes. Cool on wire racks.
