Reviews for Cheesy Slow-Cooked Corn
"Delicious! 1/3 recipe, 2 qt dish (to have room to stir), 40 minutes, covered, at 350. This has ruined canned cream corn for us forever! A pinch of salt to finish."
"I made this on the stovetop and it turned out amazing. I did add some salt at the end as it was a bit too sweet. My boyfriend really enjoyed this dish."
"Easy dish but very rich and a lot of cream chese"
"This looks really good,BUT what do we eat with this dish? Any specific type of dish that goes well with this one?"
"Wow, so easy and soooo good. Way better than the stuff in the can."
"A huge hit at EVERY potluck!"
"Easy and good!"
"I make this every year for Thanksgiving. Everyone loves it. I do not cook it in the slow cooker. I actually put everything together except the corn and heat in the microwave until melted then I add the corn and stir well then add back to the microwave to cook the corn. I then put it in the slow cooker to keep warm during the meal. much faster that way. I actually doubled the milk in mine to make it creamer."
"Love this! Big hit at family Thanksgiving!"
"This was easy & delicious! My family liked it too!"
"not detial enough"
"I cut the recipe in half since I was only cooking for two. It gave us plenty and enough for leftovers. If you like your cheesy corn sweet, then add the sugar. If not, I wouldn't. I only added about 1/4 of the sugar the actual recipe calls for and it was almost too sweet for my taste. I also added some course ground pepper and substituted cheddar for the American cheese. This is a hearty "set it and forget it" type of side dish. I served it with the Berry Delicious Barbeque Recipe (ToH) and it was the perfect compliment."
"It was very very delicious, but I wouldn't make it again. It takes really long and I just don't think that with all that work that the taste is worth it in the end."
"It was a hit at the family annual cornhole tournament!!"
"Really good - easy too. Don't have a slow cooker so just simmered everything for a while. Also added some canned green chillies and some extra seasoning to make it 'pop' a bit more. Also substituted cheddar for process cheese - process cheese - ICK!"
"I have made this Every Thanksgiving for years. My Aunt MaryEllen was a Wonderful cook. She added one more step....Bake the corn on cookie sheets for 2 hours on low and stired every 15 min. It is to die for! Yum"
"It is a favorite with my family and friends! It is a must to have at every family "special" occasion according to our family!!"
"this is so yummy. i make it alot for family cookouts. so easy and good!"
"I made this for the first time to take to our church potluck at noon on Sunday. It was a show stopper! Everyone wanted the recipe. It's quick to fix...and great for potlucks because it cooked while I attended church. I'll definitely make this again & again....and it will be on my table this holiday season for sure! In fact, I think I'll make it for supper tonight. ;o)"
"Loved the flavor and simple to put together. Be sure to use a good, brand name frozen corn."
"This is my new go to recipe for holidays. Super easy to throw together and let the crock pot do the rest."
"I have made this twice so far to take to family gatherings. It has been a hit! I agree that putting the milk in at the end is better or it clumps and is impossible to stir. A nice way to jazz up corn and an easy to do recipe."
"My family loved this. It is very good."
"This is an all time family favorite! I have made this dish many, many times and always get requests for the recipe. When I take it to pot lucks, I always come home with an empty dish, much to my family's dismay. I do add 1 tsp of salt to the recipe. Also, I find that it is easiest to add the milk last when putting it in the crock pot as it causes the frozen corn to clump together and makes it virtually impossible to stir until it begins to cook awhile later. Enjoy!"
"Absolutely scrumptious! This is certainly not a low-cal offering, but a few fat points can be trimmed off by using low-fat cream cheese. I only cooked it for 3 hours and that was plenty. We loved it!"
"This is sooo easy to put together! The results were outstanding. Perfect blend of cheeses. Great for bringing side dish to pass. This is a definite keeper."
"I microwaved some pre-cooked turkey bacon, chopped it up and tossed it in- wowwee! It was good! I also ended up baking mine when I discovered I had had broken the lid to my crock-pot at the last second. Worked great!"
"I put everything together (for a 1/6th recipe) in a baking dish and cooked it, covered, in a 350 degree oven for 40 minutes. It turned out yummy!"
