A comforting casserole is a hearty choice for supper. Our readers freshen up classics with these easy recipes, using family-friendly ingredients like chicken and rice, macaroni and tater tots.
Looking for a flavorful way to use up extra ham? Try this quick main dish that’ll even satisfy folks who aren’t fond of broccoli. “Our minister's wife served this Broccoli Ham Bake and was kind enough to share the recipe,” recalls Helen Phillips of Greensburg, Indiana. “It's very good.” For another option, the stuffing croutons can be replaced with crushed stuffing mix.
Corn and red pepper bring color to this nicely seasoned chicken-and-rice bake. “The crunch from toasted almonds sprinkled on top also sets Chicken Rice Casserole apart from other versions,” says Mary Louise Chubb of Perkasie, Pennsylvania.
