Zesty Grilled Chops

These pork chops make a quick company dish. Our family enjoys them on the grill, as the summer weather in our part of the country is hot and muggy. In the wintertime, they're wonderful prepared in the broiler. —Blanche Babinski, Minto, North Dakota

I really was going to make the recipe as stated, but my tinkering self said this was close to Asian. So I just had to add some ginger and 5 spice powder. And, my chili sauce had garlic, but I added some anyway. This is to die for. Grilling the chops really added to the flavor. So good...

It's winter so I used the broiler. Other than that, I follwed the recipe exactly and chops turned out moist and delicious.

Like others, I have been making this for years. Because I love garlic, I tend to add a bit more. After experimenting with other meats and such, I found that you can make a bit more marinade and separate it and use some as a basting sauce. This is really great on any type ribs, especially country style. Great recipe.

Have been making these chops since the it was originally posted and just had a request from my son who lives out of state to send it to him. First time I ever made them his comment was this is awesome, what kind of meat is it. We have found that the longer you marinade them the better they are.

OhBarbi, the marinade was too sweet because you substituted ketchup instead of chili sauce. Ketchup is full of sugar. The chili sauce is used to balance out the brown sugar. You should have fiollowed the recipe. You should have given this marinade a 5 star rating. It was your mistake, not the person who submitted the recipe.
