Zesty Garlic Broccoli
Total TimePrep/Total Time: 15 min.
- 4 cups fresh broccoli florets
- 1/4 cup water
- 2 teaspoons olive oil
- 1 to 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Dash crushed red pepper flakes
- Place first five ingredients in a large saucepan; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, covered, until broccoli is crisp-tender, 5 minutes. Drain. Toss with pepper flakes.

Winner, winner!!! Used melted buttery margarine instead of the oil. Used my steamer basket. Will make it again!

I prepared this recipe for dinner tonight and it was delicious. Not only quick and easy but it had a delightful subtle garlic flavor. I did not use the red pepper flakes but sprinkled a little seasoning that brought out the flavors. We will be having this easy recipe again.

Blander than expected. I used the pepper flakes, but somehow it did not enhance the flavor of the broccoli. Maybe more salt, or garlic? I love broccoli, so will play around with this recipe next time.

It has become a favorite! I make enough to have leftovers which is excellant added in an omelet or frittata the next day.
