Yellow Cake

Put the supermarket cake mix back on the shelf (and the money it costs back in your wallet) because baking a cake from scratch just got easier! Top off squares with frosting or a fruity sauce. —Ruby Love, Deer Island, Oregon

DO NOT throw that supermarket mix out. This recipe is DRY and tastes nothing like yellow cake mix. The mix is not fluffy and is not very sweet. It tastes more like a biscuit than cake. Maybe some extra sugar, another egg and some additional water will make it better.
