White Chocolate Party Mix Recipe

You won't be able to stop eating this irresistible mix. The light, sweet coating is great over cereal, peanuts, pretzels and M&M's. —Norene Wright, Manilla, Indiana
TOTAL TIME: Prep/Total Time: 30 min. YIELD:15 servings


  • 5 cups Cheerios
  • 5 cups Corn Chex
  • 2 cups salted peanuts
  • 1 pound chocolate M&M's
  • 1 package (10 ounces) mini pretzels
  • 2 packages (12 ounces each) white baking chips
  • 3 tablespoons canola oil


  • 1. In a large bowl, combine the first five ingredients; set aside. In a microwave-safe bowl, heat chips and oil at 70% power for 1 minute, stirring once. Microwave on high for 5 seconds; stir until smooth.
  • 2. Pour over cereal mixture and mix well. Spread onto three waxed paper-lined baking sheets. Cool; break apart. Store in an airtight container. Yield: 5 quarts.

    "I am surprised at all of the great reviews. I served this at a football party based on them. When I first put it out, I endured the jokes about "get me a cereal bowl so I can have some cereal." This was not eaten and there were not that many other appetizers, so that was not the reason. It was very sweet. I wasted a lot of money on the ingredients as I didn't like it either and threw it all out after our guests left. It makes a lot so I am surprised that some reviewers felt that they had to double the recipe. Will not make again."

    "I just made this for the first time. I didn't add the nuts. I like the taste but I had a hard time getting the topping to stick to the ingredients. Did I do something wrong? I am wondering if the topping was to thick. I always have better luck melting something like this in a double boiler. Anyone else used a double boiler before"
