- 2 cups confectioners' sugar
- 2 tablespoons butter, softened
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Combine sugar, butter, milk and vanilla. Beat on medium speed until smooth and fluffy. Spread over cake or cupcakes. Store in refrigerator. Yield: 1 cups.

"I am very disappointed with this so called "frosting". I was making this for my 6 years old birthday cake. Just so you are not confused she is turning 6 and is at the moment 5 since she doesn't turn 6 till 11:39 p.m. tonight. Anyways, I was trying to decide between this recipe and another and chose this one, since I only had 2 cups of powdered sugar at my house at the time. I made it and was gravely disappointed with the results. It tasted like watery sugar and it was disgusting. My daughters birthday party was ruined with no iced cake. Without icing her uncle choked on the cake since it was dry with no icing. He had to be rushed to the emergency room and almost died. And let me tell you, this was hilarious since I hated my brother-in-law and honestly one of the best days of my life. Made me happy but was horrid."

"Great base recipe, but like others said, the powdered sugar flavor is WAY too strong. I added more vanilla, about twice the recommended amount. I also added much more butter, about 4tbspns. Those two things really helped scale back the overpowering sugar taste, and made it a great frosting. With those changes, it's now my go-to frosting and I've gotten loads of compliments."

"The recipe is right. Except one major part. Do not dump it in all at once. Slowly add the sugar about 1/2-1 cup at a time. Every other time add a drizzle of milk or flavored creamer a small drizzle at time. Add the vanilla on the last beat. This helps incorporate the sugar so you don't have a mouth full of confectioners sugar. Iv bee making frosting for years and I have found this way to be time consuming but so worth it."
