Tuna Cheese Spread Recipe

The flavor of tuna is very subtle in this thick and creamy spread. It's terrific on crackers or carrot and celery sticks, stuffed in a tomato or used for a sandwich. —Dorothy Anderson, Ottawa, Kansas
TOTAL TIME: Prep/Total Time: 5 min. YIELD:8 servings


  • 1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup thinly sliced green onions
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 3/4 teaspoon curry powder
  • Dash salt
  • 1 can (6 ounces) tuna, drained and flaked
  • Bread or crackers


  • 1. In a large bowl, combine the first six ingredients. Stir in tuna. Serve with bread or crackers. Yield: 2 cups.

"Thanks, Dorothy, from a fellow Kansan ! Didn't think I'd care for this since curry is NOT MY THING, but after having the recipe in my "TO TRY" list for three years or so, I made it today. WOW ! What a delightful spread I'll make again and again ! I put it on a toasted English muffin and topped with a slice of home-grown tomato....just excellent."

"it tasted very good. i have a similar receipe i do use a whole bar of cream cheese(full fat) i use two cans of tuna and i put a can of deviled ham spread. i also put mayo. i put all the ingredients in the food processor until it reaches a spreading constiency. you can have it with bread or crackers."
