Tom & Ava Sandwiches

I discovered this recipe simply by combining my "strangely picky" daughter's favorite ingredients (tomato, avocado, and onion) and turning them into a sandwich. I have been making this sandwich for different people every chance I get and even the hearty, meat-loving people give this sandwich rave reviews! This is a healthy meatless sandiwich that is light, filling, and full of flavor! The ingredients can be changed to personal preference.

  • 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 8 slices whole wheat bread
  • 1 medium ripe avocado, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1 large tomato, thinly sliced
  • 8 slices red onion
  • 1 cup alfalfa sprouts


  • Spread four slices bread with cream cheese. Layer with avocado, tomato, onion and sprouts. Top with remaining bread.
