Sweet ‘n’ Sour Coleslaw

  • 5-1/2 cups coleslaw mix
  • 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoons white vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt


  • Place coleslaw mix in a serving bowl. Combine the remaining ingredients; pour over coleslaw mix and toss to coat. Chill until serving.

    This is now one of my favorite coleslaws. My 16 oz bag of coleslaw was 7 1/2 cups so I had to make an additional 1/3 recipe of dressing.

    I do not normally like coleslaw, but I enjoyed the sweetness of this recipe. I will definitely make this again.

    While I appreciate the simplicity of this recipe, it is way too sweet. If I tried this again I would use far less sugar.

    This is perfect for people who don't like mayonnaise - I personally didn't taste much of a difference from other similar recipes that call for mayonnaise. Will make again!
