Sweet and Spicy Peanut Butter-Bacon Sandwiches

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup peanut butter
  • 4 slices cinnamon-raisin bread
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 4 crisp cooked bacon strips
  • 2 teaspoons honey

Directions

  • 1. Spread peanut butter on 2 bread slices; sprinkle with cayenne. Top with bacon and drizzle with honey. Top with remaining bread.

    New favorite breakfast sandwich, minus the cayenne pepper. I love spice but 1/8 tsp was too much for four slices of bread (in my opinion) so If you want the spice I'd recommend using half of the 1/8 measuring. Absolutely delicious, even though Thomasville Cinnamon Raisin bread will forever be in my house now lol.

    Throw it in a skillet with some butter to crisp up the outside then sprinkle a bit of dark brown sugar on it as it comes out.

    I didn't have cinnamon-raisin bread, so I improvised! I usually sprinkle my peanut butter toast with cinnamon and hot pepper so I just sprinkled on a few raisins after toasting some sprouted grain bread. I had some leftover cooked bacon to use, also. Oh, my goodness....it was a mouthful of pleasure. I made the toast "open faced" so cut down on the bread. Will definitely keep this method of peanut butter toast!
