Sweet and Savory Marinated Green Beans

Ingredients
- 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
- 2 cups cider vinegar
- 2 cups water
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 3 garlic cloves, crushed
- 1 small red onion, sliced
- 2 teaspoons mustard seed
- 2 teaspoons dill weed
- 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
- 1 teaspoon salt
Directions
- In a large saucepan, bring about 6 cups water to a boil. Add green beans; cook, uncovered, just until crisp-tender, 2-3 minutes. Remove beans and immediately drop into ice water. Drain and pat dry.
- In a large container, combine all remaining ingredients, stir until sugar is dissolved. Add green beans; cover and refrigerate 8 hours or overnight.
