I'm sure these will be delicious but I'm stumped. How do you 'coat' them with the brown sugar/chili seasoning and get it to stick? I can see that I could sprinkle them with the mixture but from the picture it looks like they are actually 'coated'. Can someone advise?

I make these allllllllll the time if I want to impress at a potluck or holiday event. I add a little cumin and garlic powder to the cream cheese mix and also do half cheddar half Monterrey Jack for the shredded cheese. I would ABSOLUTELY encourage you to bake these low and slow. They turn out much better for me at 300 and doubling the time. It also helps if you have a rack to cook them on over a pan so the drippings fall down and away. I also over-filled mine with cream cheese mix the first time and they kind of exploded so I remember not to over pack them. Now I've perfected "my take" on this they are always a hit!

Everything is better with bacon and this is no exception. My family loves the sweet and spicy combo. This is a recipe that we enjoy making a lot.

I fried the bacon and crumbled it into the cheese mix, and my family loved them

I had to bake mine longer than what the recipe stated to get the bacon crispy, about 30 mins total. Love the sweet/spicy bacon with the creamy cheese mixture.

My family didn't like these. They were very bland.

I just made these for my family yesterday and and everyone loved them. I doubled the recipe and made the first batch exactly as written and then added 1 tablespoon real bacon bits to the cheese mixture in the 2nd batch. It's so easy to put together for a great appetizer. I plan to take 3 dozen to a dinner Christmas Eve. Great recipe!
