Spicy Grilled Steaks


  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 2 teaspoons dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon rubbed sage
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 4 boneless beef top loin steaks (12 ounces each)


  • 1. In a small bowl, combine the first eight ingredients. Rub about 1 teaspoon of spice mixture over each side of steaks.
  • 2. Grill, covered, over medium heat for 6-8 minutes on each side or until meat reaches desired doneness (for medium-rare, a thermometer should read 135°; medium, 140°; medium-well, 145°).

    I cut back a bit on the red pepper and paprika so it wasn't real spicy.

    My husband and I really enjoyed this. So nice to live in California where we can barbecue in February!
