Spiced Pecans Recipe

Miriam also shares this family-favorite snack recipe. "These pecans are a treat to munch on anytime and are very nice to serve when you have company," she assures.
TOTAL TIME: Prep: 10 min. Bake: 1 hour YIELD:12 servings


  • 1 large egg white
  • 1 teaspoon cold water
  • 4 cups (about 1 pound) pecan halves
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt


  • 1. In a small bowl, lightly beat egg white. Add water; beat until frothy but not stiff. Add pecans; stir until well coated. Combine the sugar, cinnamon and salt. Sprinkle over pecans; toss to coat.
  • 2. Spread in a 15x10x1-in. greased baking pan. Bake at 250° for 1 hour, stirring occasionally. Yield: 4 cups.

"I recall preparing this recipe! I'd used 1/2 tsp. salt and I'd added 1/2 cup sugar-cinnamon mixture and 2 cups of miniature pretzel twists! This is a really great snack item to prepare-I'd written out this recipe when preparing it! Thank you so much for sharing this recipe!

PLEASE NOTE: I mix up: 1 cup of sugar with 3 Tbsp. ground cinnamon and store in an airtight container.
This way, I can measure out the amount of cinnamon-sugar I need!"
