Whenever I went to Grandmother's, she served these flavorful bars, topped with creamy frosting. Today, I do the same for our grandchildren, who like the little treats just as much.

"I run a kitchen in a small hospital and it was cook's choice cake day and my cook wanted to make spice cake. We ran across this recipe and she raved about it. Thanks for the recipe!"

"I really liked these bars a lot....they have a lovely taste. BUT unfortunately they were a tad dry. Perhaps it was my fault somehow, not the recipe. If I knew how to solve that problem, I'd be thrilled because I would like to consider this recipe a keeper. I will make a few adjustments, be sure not to over-bake them, and hope for the best! These are too good to give up on so easily."
