Southern Honey-Pecan Pie

Dough for single-crust pie

1/4 cup sugar

3 tablespoons all-purpose flour

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 cup honey

3 eggs, lightly beaten

1/3 cup butter, melted

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup chopped pecans

1/2 cup pecan halves
Directions

Preheat oven to 350°. On a lightly floured surface, roll dough to a 1/8-in.-thick circle; transfer to a 9-in. pie plate. Trim crust to 1/2 in. beyond rim of plate; flute edge. Refrigerate while preparing filling.

In a small bowl, combine sugar, flour and salt. Stir in honey, eggs, butter and vanilla. Stir in chopped pecans. Pour into crust. Arrange pecan halves around edge and center of pie.

Cover edge loosely with foil. Bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil; bake until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean, 20-25 minutes. Cool on a wire rack. Store in the refrigerator.
