Because avocados can brown quickly, it’s best to make this guacamole just before serving. If you have to make it a little in advance, place the avocado pits in the guacamole until ready to serve. —Heidi Main, Anchorage, AK

Ingredients

  • 2 medium ripe avocados
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup chunky salsa
  • 1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon salt

Directions

  1. Peel and chop avocados; place in a small bowl. Sprinkle with lemon juice. Add salsa and salt; mash coarsely with a fork. Refrigerate until serving.
