Seasoned Beans and Tomatoes


  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 tablespoons canola oil
  • 2 cups fresh or frozen green beans, thawed
  • 1 can (14-1/2 ounces) diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper


  • 1. In a skillet, saute onion in oil until tender. Stir in the remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cook, uncovered, over medium-low heat until beans are tender. Serve with a slotted spoon.
