Roasted Sweet and Spicy Chickpeas
From the kitchen of field editor Jolene Martinelli of Fremont, New Hampshire: My guys are allergic to nuts so I don't keep them in the house. I found roasted chickpeas are a great substitute. They're spicy, sweet, crunchy and so good!
- 1 can chickpeas
- 2 teaspoons extra virgin olive oil
- 2T Gustus Vitae spicy chocolate cinnamon cane sugar
- Heat oven to 425°. Drain and rinse chickpeas, remove any loose skins. Add chickpeas to rimmed baking pan in a single layer with a little room to move. Drizzle with oil and shake pan to coat evenly. Sprinkle with spicy chocolate cinnamon sugar. Roast for approximately 45 mins to 1 hour, stirring occasionally, until they reach your desired crunchiness.
