Peppermint Fudge Recipe

Peppermint Fudge Recipe

Three of the season's best flavors-nuts, chocolate and peppermint-combine in a delightful manner in this scrumptious fudge. The two distinct layers are eye-catching-another reason why this candy makes a great holiday gift. —Connie Denmark, St. Joseph, Illinois

"I think this is the BEST fudge ever! I've made it numerous times and everyone who tries it LOVES it! I don't understand the complaints about it being to dry, because I have never had a problem!"

"I too am looking at a bowl of mostly powdered sugar cocoa dust. There is simply not enough "wet" ingredient to bind the powder together. I think the recipe must be missing an ingredient or has a typo for the amount of cream cheese or milk listed."

"I never tasted it as i gave them to my kids for Christmas. That's my chief complaint as this recipe just doesn't seem to make as much fudge as others. Only a loaf pan instead of a 9 in square. I found it rather dry putting together as well. I give it a three however since my kids made no complaints about it."

"I joined this site just to review this recipe. It is AWFUL. You are basically making thick, oversweet layers of frosting. I doubled the cocoa powder and it still had poor chocolate taste. But worse, it never set properly. I had to throw the lot out. I'm quite skilled in the kitchen and can't figure out what happened and am very curious as to the few good reviews here."

"I won't make this again. Just sweet, no real flavour. Mixing Dixie, you might've used the recipe for this that I have from the Dec/Jan 2001 issue of TOH. It calls for only 1/2 tsp milk in each layer. Not nearly enough to mix everything together. The recipe shown here has increased the amounts. I ended doing that myself but am still not impressed with this recipe."

"I followed this recipe to a T- and ended up with a pan of powdered sugar. I was very upset with the results and the wasted money to make this. I doubled checked numerous times to see if I made an error, and just can't figure out what happened here!!"
