Peanut Butter Cornflake Bars were one of my favorite treats when I was a little girl. They are very versatile. A friend likes to spread a cup of melted chocolate chips over the top. Bu sure to let the chocolate set before cutting into these simply delicious bars. —Laura Campbell, Lisbon, Maine

Ingredients

  • 1-1/2 cups creamy peanut butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 6 cups cornflakes

Directions

  1. In a large saucepan, combine peanut butter, sugar and corn syrup. Cook and stir over medium-low heat until sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat; stir in cereal. Spread into a greased 13x9-in. pan; press lightly. Let stand until set, about 1 hour.
