Peanut Butter Brownies

"I came up with these fudgy peanut butter brownies when I ran out of ingredients I needed for my usual recipe," relates Marcella Cremer of Decatur, Illinois. "They take less than 10 minutes to mix up."
  • Total Time
Prep: 10 min. Bake: 30 min. + cooling
  • Makes
    2 dozen

  • 1 package (17-1/2 ounces) peanut butter cookie mix
  • 1/2 cup baking cocoa
  • 2/3 cup chocolate syrup
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or peanuts
  • 2 cups plus 2 tablespoons confectioners' sugar
  • 1/4 cup baking cocoa
  • 1/2 cup chocolate syrup
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • In a large bowl, combine cookie mix and cocoa. Beat in chocolate syrup, butter and egg until combined. Stir in nuts.
  • Spread into a greased 13x9-in. baking pan. Bake at 350° for 28-32 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack.
