"Wedges of this delicious cheese-topping bread go great with spaghetti and other Italian dishes," notes Diane Hixon of Niceville, Florida. "They also taste special when dressed up with one of the flavorful spreads."

  • 1-1/2 cups biscuit/baking mix
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 1/4 cup apple juice
  • 1/4 cup 2% milk
  • 1 tablespoon dried minced onion
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 2 tablespoons minced fresh parsley or 2 teaspoons dried parsley flakes
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 4 teaspoons tomato paste
  • Dash cayenne pepper

  1. In a large bowl, combine the first seven ingredients just until blended. Spoon into a greased 9-in. round baking pan. Sprinkle with cheese. Bake at 400° for 18-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  2. In separate small bowls, combine herb butter and tomato butter ingredients; beat until smooth. Serve with warm bread.
