Stollen is a Christmas tradition in Germany. The fruit-filled yeast bread is topped with icing, candied fruit and almonds. Its shape resembles a giant Parker House roll.

divided in 1/2 to get a smaller loaf, used currants instead of raisins, will make again!
I have made this several times as written. It is fantastic. This time I made 4 one pound loaves. Left the frosting off. My favorite way to eat the bread is toasted with butter only. The bread freezes well.
