Old-Fashioned Scalloped Pineapple
Total TimePrep: 10 min. Bake: 30 min. + standing
- 3 large eggs, beaten
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 can (8 ounces) crushed pineapple, undrained
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 1/4 cup whole milk
- 4 cups cubed bread
- Preheat oven to 350°. Combine eggs, sugar, pineapple, butter and milk; add bread cubes and toss to coat. Transfer to a greased 8-in. square baking dish. Bake, uncovered, until a thermometer reads 160°, 30-35 minutes. Let stand 10 minutes before serving. Refrigerate leftovers.

We love pineapple, so I thought I'd give this a try, and its tasty.. Next time, will reduce sugar to maybe one cup, and I added some chopped marachino cherries for color. Good dessert, and quick, too.
