Ingredients

  • 6 bacon strips, cut into 1/2-inch pieces
  • 2 pounds fresh green beans
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup water

Directions

In a large skillet, cook bacon over medium heat until crisp, about 5 minutes. Add the beans, brown sugar and water. Stir gently; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 15 minutes or until beans are crisp-tender. Remove to a serving bowl with a slotted spoon. Yield: 6-8 servings.

"these were fantastic. I did add dried cranberries and salt. Next time I might try adding some pecans. Can't believe how good these were though. Husband loved them too. I'll definitely make these a lot"
