A filling blend of nuts, seeds, chocolate chips and dried fruit keeps you healthy by the handful. —Kristin Rimkus, Snohomish, Washington

  • 1 cup salted pumpkin seeds or pepitas
  • 1 cup unblanched almonds
  • 1 cup unsalted sunflower kernels
  • 1 cup walnut halves
  • 1 cup dried apricots
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips


  • 1. Place all ingredients in a large bowl; toss to combine. Store in an airtight container. Yield: 5 cups.

"I'm diabetic and while I love the nuts and seeds in this trail mix, I need to NOT have the chocolate chips in it. Any suggestions for a substitute for them?"

"Great Recipe! I store mine in the freezer. Can be eaten by the handful, mix with greek yogurt or add to cooked oatmeal. I am a diabetic, this works great within my eating plan."
