Never-Fail Pecan Pie

This incredible pecan pie recipe came from my mother-in-law. Her pies were a were a hit everywhere she took them and I never saw anyone not enjoy each mouthful! She was kind enough to pass this recipe on to me, and it's one that I really enjoy making. —Beverly Materne, Reeves, Louisiana
Ingredients

1/2 cup sugar

1 tablespoon all-purpose flour

1/4 teaspoon salt

2 large eggs, well beaten

1 cup dark corn syrup

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup pecan halves

Dough for single-crust pie
Directions

Preheat oven to 350°. On a lightly floured surface, roll dough to a 1/8-in.-thick circle; transfer to a 9-in. pie plate. Trim crust to 1/2 in. beyond rim of plate; flute edge.

In a large bowl, combine sugar, flour, salt, eggs, corn syrup and vanilla. Stir in pecans. Pour into crust.

Bake until golden brown, 40-45 minutes. Cover edge loosely with foil during the last 30 minutes if needed to prevent overbrowning. Remove foil. Cool on a wire rack.
