Mandarin Salad

Ingredients

  • 1 can (15 ounces) mandarin oranges
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 10 cups torn salad greens
  • 1 can (2.8 ounces) french-fried onions

Directions

  • 1. Drain oranges, reserving 2 tablespoons juice (discard remaining juice or refrigerate for another use). In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise and reserved juice until smooth. In a large bowl, toss the greens, oranges and onions. Drizzle with dressing and toss to coat. Serve immediately.

    What an excellent salad...I can see using this as a potluck side dish...thinking it would make a great refreshing summer salad...just prepare the mayo dressing and put everything in the frig and mix together before serving...I cut this down to 2 servings and ate the whole thing for my lunch...made for "Best of 2015" tag game...

    An all-time favorite salad for its simplicity, brightness of flavor & mixed textures. I used mixed greens. Such an easy-fix, but company-worthy too. 1 of the few recipes I don't mind making at the last moment. Would prefer more juice & less mayo in the dressing. :-)

    Very simple and refreshing! I used spring greens. I will cut the greens in half the next time I make, as this salad does not keep will for leftovers.

    This salad was delicious! The recipe calls for 10 c. torn salad greens & was afraid I didn't have enough lettuce on hand, so I used 1 bag of pre-washed salad & large chunk off a head of lettuce. This is a keeper in my recipe box. We had a small bowl leftover & it was even delicious the next day.

    This salad is super simple, light and refreshing.

    The onions on top give it a nice crunch.
