Lettuce with Buttermilk Dressing Recipe
Jean Morgan of Roscoe, Illinois often serves her garden lettuce this way. She notes, "The dressing lets the fresh flavor come through."
- 1/4 cup buttermilk
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise or salad dressing
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 tablespoon vinegar
- 6 cups torn leaf lettuce
- 1. In a small bowl, whisk the first four ingredients. Toss with lettuce or serve on the side. Refrigerate any leftover dressing. Yield: 4 servings.
1-1/2 cups: 95 calories, 6g fat (1g saturated fat), 3mg cholesterol, 61mg sodium, 10g carbohydrate (8g sugars, 2g fiber), 2g protein.
