Lemon, Ginger and Turmeric Infused Water
This is a fantastic pick-me-up when you’re feeling a little under the weather or find yourself in need of a health boost. Turmeric is commonly used in Indian cuisines, and studies indicate it’s chock full of antioxidants.
- 1 tablespoon ground turmeric
- 4 slices fresh gingerroot
- 1/2 lemon, sliced
- 2 quarts water
- 1. Combine all ingredients in a large glass carafe or pitcher. Cover and refrigerate 12-24 hours.
Apr 17, 2019This was an excellent way to change up my water routine with flavors I enjoy. The combination of ginger, turmeric, and lemon was an interesting and refreshing one. The flavors don't overpower one another, though you are left with that little "burn" of ginger on the back of your tongue after drinking. I agree with another reviewer...my water was not the beautiful yellow shown in the picture. Rather it looked like cloudy orange water which may be a turnoff to some people. If you're not sure you'll like the flavor profile, I would suggest starting out by just adding the ginger and lemon and then moving on to adding the turmeric a little at a time.
Apr 8, 2019I’ve heard about the great health benefits of turmeric, but was not a fan. This is water had a unique, but subtle taste. I thought the turmeric might be overpowering and that was not the case. It’s very yellow though, got me some looks at work, until I explained and they asked fir the recipe so they could try it.
Oct 28, 2018Good idea for me, rather than making one lemon water each day. The addition of ginger and turmeric, of which i am a fan, makes it better. Are you sure one tablespoon of turmeric per two quarts, mine looked like orange juice.
