Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup honey mustard
  • 2 tablespoons apple jelly
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 medium apples, sliced
  • 1 package (12 ounces) fully cooked apple chicken sausage links or flavor of your choice, sliced
  • Hot cooked rice

Directions

In a small bowl, whisk honey mustard, jelly and water until blended. In a large skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Add apples; cook and stir 2-3 minutes or until tender. Remove from pan.
Add sausage to skillet; cook and stir 2-4 minutes or until browned. Return apples to skillet. Add mustard mixture; cook and stir 1-2 minutes or until thickened. Serve with rice. Yield: 4 servings.

"What a delightful flavor combination! This is going in the regular dinner rotation. It was so fast and easy that it can be a go-to recipe for a busy weeknight. The honey, mustard, and apples really made the chicken sausage flavorful. I didn't have honey mustard so I made my own."

"I used uncooked apple chicken sausages and just cooked them first and then added the apples. I also made my own honey mustard to taste and added at the end. Served with just vegetables to keep it low carb. Even my pickiest eater loved it. Making iagain tonight!"
