Hazelnut Chocolate Chip Pizzelle
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup sugar
- 3/4 cup butter, melted
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup finely chopped hazelnuts, toasted
- 1/2 cup miniature semisweet chocolate chips
- 1. In a large bowl, beat the eggs, sugar and butter until smooth. Gradually add flour and mix well. Fold in hazelnuts and chocolate chips.
- 2. Bake in a preheated pizzelle iron according to manufacturer’s directions until golden brown. Remove to wire racks to cool. Store in an airtight container.
1 cookie: 110 calories, 6g fat (3g saturated fat), 34mg cholesterol, 35mg sodium, 13g carbohydrate (7g sugars, 0 fiber), 2g protein.

I made the recipe exactly as given, but the batter kept melting in the pizzelle iron and the cookies wouldn't come out in one piece. I added flour 1/4 cup at a time to stiffen the batter, but they continued to stick in the iron. I even tried different times ( ie. 10 seconds, 15 seconds, up to 30 second seconds). I make many kinds of pizzelles and never had results like this. Suggestions anyone ???

I love Pizzelle Cookies. These are the first I have seen with Hazelnuts & Chocolate Chips as ingredients, but no flavoring is added.
