Ham with Pineapple Salsa Recipe

Ham with Pineapple Salsa Recipe

A dear friend shared this recipe when she moved from Hawaii to Colorado. Now it’s one of my favorite ways to eat ham. I get lots of requests for the recipe when I make it for guests. —Dawn Wilson, Buena Vista, Colorado

"Loved this salsa!! Used it as an appetizer with tortilla chips instead of with the ham. Delish!"

"While this was a nice accompaniment to a ham steak, the cilantro seemed to overwhelm the dish. I love cilantro, but I would cut it back and maybe add a little more jalapeno for more heat."

"Excellent accompaniment. The only changes I made were to use frozen pineapple chunks and jalapenos from a jar because they were what I had on hand. Actually I think the frozen pineapple would create a fresher taste and less sweet than canned. The result was awesome and I will definitely use it again. We have ham steaks on a regular basis and I am always looking for sauce recipes for it."

"This is just the right amount of "kick" that ham steaks need, with the great taste of fruit. Only had tidbits, but it was wonderful! Thank you"
