"I made this recently and its delicious. I see a few folks said its too sweet, but I'm not sure I've ever had fudge that wasn't extremely sweet. I don't see gumdrops regularly in local stores, so I bought the fruit slices and cut them up with scissors without a problem. I cut them and coat the cut edges with a bit of sugar to keep them from sticking together. I used the white candy melts (Wilton). Other than using the fruit slices, I made the candy as directed and it turned out perfect! Thanks for sharing this version of fudge."

"I went to 6 stores to get the gumdrops for this recipe and would consider myself an above average baker and cook but certainly feel stupid now after reading the other reviews for the gumdrop fudge and yes, I did purchase evaporated milk instead of condensed milk to make the fudge and after three days of it not setting, threw it all out - just have to admit how stupid I feel after not using the right product to make the fudge but will

definitely will try again based on the other reviews - Maxine"

"Tried this recipe twice with no success. The fudge never seems to set. What am I doing wrong. I followed the recipe instructions."

"Awesome recipe, we've been doing this for years. I also like to use fruit slices instead of the gumdrop for more pizzazz and fruity flavors. It ships well too!"

"Very pretty on a tray of Christmas cookies, but very, very sweet"

"A very pretty fudge. I prefer chocolate fudge myself, but I love how pretty a gift this makes. When I sliced the gum drops (use the "spice ones for better flavor", I placed the sliced pieces in a bowl of white sugar to keep them from sticking to one another. easy to do and so nice for gift giving!"

"I have made these the last two years. Instead of the gumdrops I use chopped up dried apricots and 2 bags of white chocolate chips instead of the coating. easy, very delicious, and perhaps a tad more nutritious."

"This was one of the easiest and most delicious candy recipes I have ever tried. I took some to work and some to my family's Christmas gathering and everyone wanted the recipe! I used 2 bags of vanilla chips instead of the candy coating, which worked out just fine. I will definitely make this recipe again!"
