Grilled Potatoes & Peppers Recipe

My husband, Matt, grills this recipe for both breakfast and dinner gatherings. Besides the company, the potatoes are one of the best parts! —Susan Nordin, Warren, Pennsylvania
TOTAL TIME: Prep: 20 min. Grill: 40 min. YIELD:10 servings


  • 8 medium red potatoes, cut into wedges
  • 2 medium green peppers, sliced
  • 1 medium onion, cut into thin wedges
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 5 garlic cloves, thinly sliced
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon steak seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper


  • 1. In a large bowl, combine all ingredients. Divide between two pieces of heavy-duty foil (about 18 in. square). Fold foil around potato mixture and crimp edges to seal.
  • 2. Grill, covered, over medium heat 40-45 minutes or until potatoes are tender. Open foil carefully to allow steam to escape. Yield: 10 servings.

"Don't let the recipe title stop you, I've made this recipe in the OVEN for brunches throughout the year and they're always a hit. Roast at 400F on a large, rimmed baking sheet for 50 minutes or until fork tender, stirring them after 25 mins."

"Tasty and simple to make. Put all the ingredients in a plastic bag instead of using a bowl, (even less cleanup), and added a bit of hot sauce for a bit more kick. The combination of steak spice and Italian seasoning worked well together for these veg."

"This one was wonderful! ( we were a bit thirst the rest of the day so maybe watch the spices) I will definitely be making this one again and again. We substituted the green pepper for red and orange and I am sure when my teenage son goes back to college we might add a few more vegetables too and still think this one is a winner."

"These were pretty awesome!!! I didn't grill mine though - just roasted them in the oven on 375 for an hour or so. Loved the idea of using the Montreal steak seasoning - don't know why I've never thought of it myself - I am already trying to think of other ways to use it instead of just on meats!"

"This is a basic standby for us... except that I bake in the oven (no grill), and I add marinated artichoke hearts and sliced coins of Brussels sprouts. I've never seen Montreal steak seasoning, but I use a Publix store brand of steak seasoning. Yum."
