I make this dessert in the spring and summertime, and it's always a big hit. Serve it over angel food cake, ice cream or even over yogurt for breakfast. Delicious! —Rebecca Cattell, Indianapolis, Indiana

Ingredients

  • 2 packages (12 ounces each) frozen unsweetened mixed berries
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon minced fresh gingerroot or 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon grated orange peel

Directions

In a large saucepan, combine all ingredients. Cook, uncovered, over medium heat until berries have softened and released their juices, 12-15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Serve warm or refrigerate and serve cold. Yield: 20 servings (2 tablespoons each).
