Reviews for Garlic Parmesan Orzo
"I cut this recipe in half for my husband and I, and it worked perfectly. I didn't think this was bland at all! That may have been because I cooked the orzo in half chicken broth (leftover) and half water, to add a bit of extra flavor. I also used whole milk instead of 2%. Lastly, I used dry parsley (using the proper conversation of 1 tbsp fresh = 1 tsp dry). It was DELICIOUS! We will make this again!Update: I made this again the other night and didn't use chicken broth to cook the orzo. I still thought this side tasted GREAT. It's light, tasty, and good complement to so many meals."
"easy and delicious"
"I liked this dish. easy to make and very flavourful. I did not measure the garlic, but just minced 3 garlic cloves. I also did as the other poster and used only 3 tbsp butter to cut back on the calories."
"I cut back on the butter and used some good olive oil. I also freshly grated Romano cheese and used couple of tablespoons on cream. If only I had some fresh parsley on hand ... wonderful, easy side dish."
"I had a half box of orzo in the cupboard that I wanted to use up & found this recipe on the fly. Very easy and very tasty."
"it will definitely be a repeated recipe. I cut the recipe in half, including the butter, and probably could have cut the butter down even more, and it was still delicious. I can't wait to heat it up for lunch and dinner tomorrow. I paired it with steamed salmon."
"very good and flavorful. I made some for dinner and craving some more already."
"Yummy! Everyone loved it. I did cut back on the butter to 3 tablespoons to save on calories. It was still moist and delicious!"
"Loved it. It was so simple and quick to make."
"Wonderful side dish. Served it with chicken. It was a hit with my family."
"Wow!! I made this when some friends were coming over and it was such a hit. I will totally make it again. So very easy, and so delicious. I don't think a lot of people know what orzo pasta is, so it looks super fancy, but it is so easy to make and it so good. I used frozen cubes of garlic and basil bc it is what I had on hand, and it was so good. I will for sure be making this again!!"
"We love this, but usually half it for just two people. When it's done we add feta. Delish!!!"
"My whole family really liked this recipe but I did make a couple changes. First I cooked the orzo in chicken broth and second I added a little more parmesan!"
"Too bland for us."
"I cut the recipe in half, but used the ingredients as stated, just less. Great!"
"I made this recipe with half the amount of butter and skim milk rather than 2% because that's what my family drinks and, therefore, what I had on hand. I omitted the parsley. While bland in color, this dish is packed with flavor. Would be great with chopped spinach. I will definitely make this again!"
"Good start, though I had to make some changes. There was waay too much butter, so you can easily halve the amount. Also, I thought the amount of garlic made it too sweet, so I would halve that too. It's still a little bland, but if you up the salt a touch, it's a nice side dish for a flavor-heavy main dish."
"My daughters new favorite side dish because it tastes so good and mine because it's so easy to make!"
"Very yummy recipe! I have even cut the butter in half to make it a little bit healthier and it still tastes great. All four of my kids even like it."
