Fresh Fruit Combo

Whenever I take this eye-catching fruit salad to a party or gathering, people ask for the recipe. The blueberries and cherries give the salad its distinctive flavor. —Julie Sterchi, Campbellsville, Kentucky

  • 2 cups cubed fresh pineapple
  • 2 medium oranges, peeled and chopped
  • 3 kiwifruit, peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup sliced fresh strawberries
  • 1 cup halved seedless red grapes
  • 2 medium firm bananas, sliced
  • 1 large red apple, cubed
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
  • 1 cup fresh or canned pitted dark sweet cherries


  • In a large bowl, combine the first five ingredients; refrigerate until serving. To serve, fold in bananas, apple, blueberries and cherries.

3/4 cup: 78 calories, 0 fat (0 saturated fat), 0 cholesterol, 3mg sodium, 20g carbohydrate (13g sugars, 3g fiber), 1g protein. Diabetic Exchanges: 1 fruit.

    Found out I'm prediabetic so am deleting at least half the recipes in my recipe box here before I even got to try them.:( This is one recipe that is healthy and a keeper. Didn't rate because haven't tried it yet. Usually the fruit salads have a dressing with sugar, honey, etc. Thank you so much!

    Yes it helps to have portions spelled out so you have a good flavor mix. I wouldn't have thought of adding blueberries and dark cherries. Thanks Julie for your unique Recipe and proven taste test with people asking for your recipe. I'm going to make it for our July 4 trip for my friends.
